When writing the report for my software project at uni, I needed a simple diagram to illustrate the design of the program. My first thought was UML, and my second thought was “There must be tools to generate UML diagrams from Python code.” Fortunately, I was right, and google pointed me to the excellent PyNSource. Unfortunately, the code was a bit dated and the GUI refused to run with a half current wxWindows installation. Fortunately, the wxPython documentation turned up a simple fix for the bug.
I submitted the fix, and the PyNSource author and maintainer Andy Bulka accepted it and put it up on the project website. -So if you ever need a python UML-diagram generator or want to convert your Python prototype code to Java or Delphi, give PyNSource a try.

First Patch - PyNSource
Thursday, October 19th, 2006I’m almost a free man!
Saturday, October 14th, 2006I had my last ever exam last week (I hope), and I handed in my last bit of coursework this week. On both occasions, I was secretly hoping for for a group of people with party hats waiting for me when I got out of the building, and maybe throwing confetti.
Unfortunately nothing like it happened. I guess that means that last exams aren’t really a big deal (unless a group of people have theirs at the same time). I thought I’d really need a break after all the pre-exam stress and the lack of summer holidays. However after 3 days, I’m already bored. Maybe I should get started on my thesis a bit sooner after all.
